I have not been involved with the Ladies Auxiliary Hannah Home Shelby, in several years. Recently a request for more designers for tables came in, so I said ok..... I had only a few weeks to decide on a theme, and shop. There were 40 tables and I can truly say , each year it gets better and better! There are so many creative ladies that also have a heart to serve God, and help provide a safe home for abused women and children. We raised the funds for the home to be built in 2005/2006, and now our efforts support the daily opperations and expenses. Sister Shubert was our guest speaker. Including the silent auction, we raised over 21,000.00.

Cake Pop Crazy

My new challenge of perfecting Cake Pops has been a good distraction for me now . Even after 3 weeks without Daisy, my heart still hurts and I constantly think about all of the LITTLE things , like greeting us at the door, happily, and as if we were the greatest people on earth. So, Brooke opened my eyes and interest to creating Cake Pops! These cute little bites of cake, encased with tinted white chocolate, and perched atop a lollipop stick and decorated to match any occasion, have had me in the Test Kitchen into the wee hours of the night......But being a night owl as I am , It's been okay! My first batch caused me to use more 4 letter words than I believe there actually are.......I made up a few that sounded appropriate for the disasters that were happening. But after a few batches I began to see a new addition to my catering business. Our dear friends were celebrating a first birthday for their sweet baby Nate.

Bye Bye Our Sweet Daisy

We were sad to loose our precious Daisy at only 8 yrs old. She will be missed by everyone in our family, especially Bella. She seems lost without her. Thank you Lord for the time we DID have.

Doobie Brothers in Destin July 2010

We hit the Doobie Brothers Concert on the beach . After the BP oil spill, lots of benefit concerts are being held. We were in Destin for two weeks to celebrate the fourth of July, so we decided to check it out! Felt like 1976 all over again! We have become addicted to beach bum life.

Mothers Day Weekend

We enjoyed a visit from Brooke and the boys for Mothers Day weekend. We hosted a cookout and had the Great Grandma's over to get aquainted with baby Cole. Brock, Jackson and Jonathan climbed our cherry tree, played XBOX and had a fun day running around. John grilled for us , although he should have practiced a bit ahead on getting the chicken kabobs done near the same time as the hot dogs and hamburgers. Todd could not make this trip, he was giving the sermon on Sunday morning at church.

Taco Momma is John Bradley's new pup. We found her abandoned at the country cemetery that my dad was buried. She made herself at home with JB, in their new home.

Ship Wrecked

When we were visiting Gulf Shores this Fall, we drove to Fort Morgan Beach to see the old ship that washed ashore during a recent gulf hurricane. This is yet to be identified , but was a site to be seen. The boat appearently began to burn , then sank.

Camped out at Chickfila?

John Bradley calls me out of the blue one morning and suggest we camp out to win FREE CHICKFILA for a year. Well of course I will this is exactly the kind of thing a lady of my age wants to do. They fed us all day and night, and we were forbidden to leave the property or to sleep for too long. We came equipped with tents and all of the comforts of NOTHING! We were freezing, but we really had alot of fun. We found out there are "regulars" who travel the country to new store openings,to do this for kicks. We might do it again, but I would need to think hard about it first.We are enjoying the free #1 meals valued over 5.00 each.

Here's the new travel trailer. We are so nuts about our new toy that we hang out in it at home in the driveway. We went to Wind Creek for our first "real " trip.The dogs loved it and the smores were sooooooo yummy.Next trip, Shrimp Festival Gulf Shores Alabama.

Supper Club

Valentines Day

WE celebrated our love for each other at home with a very romantic dinner. We like to go out for dinner often, but it seems like the wait on Valentines Day gets longer each year. We enjoyed a candlelit dinner and had a great evening. We started with a soup and salad with a Japanese Honey dressing, followed by a stir fried sweet and sour pork, and chicken fried rice. Dinner was topped off with a chocolate and Kahalua fondue. Brownies, strawberries and marshmellows were our favorite. xoxoxoxo

Turts is okay

WE adopted Brock's pet turtle "Turts". He out grew his bowl. At Christmas time he started his new life in our garden pond. We were a little concerned after the weather turned very cold, but are happy to report a turtle siting during a spring pond cleaning.

We have traveled to Tallahassee to see our daughter and son in law , and to kiss and hug the stuffins out of our boys.Brock is very busy in sports now( Soccer and Basketball.)We all attended both games .Todd is an excellent coach, and the rest in the group are the loud and roughty fans!
Jake is most happy digging deeply into a mini box of raisins, but does clap with glee when the crowd does.We had big plans to help with their shower door installation, but had to reorder another one. The visit was wonderful and we hope to go again soon.Bella and Daisy came as well and played so much that they slept the whole way home.

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary on January 21, 2008.Wow It seems like yesterday that we were 17 and 19 and walking down the isle of Vinesville Baptist Church. It was snowing that weekend and the city was in shutdown mode.We were very much in love, but not as much as today. We celebrated our anniversary in Hawaii last August. We flew to Honoloulou and boarded the Pride of Hawaii. Our ports of call were Kona for scuba diving , Kona coffee, and a memorable stop at the sea horse farm. Maui was beautiful. While driving up the northwest coast we came upon a beautiful beach that was a popular spot for snorkling. The weather was rough, but we were determined to see Hawaii underwater. We spotted what can only be described as a sea snake slithering along the ocean floor. Then there were more. After what seemed like an eternity we made it to shore. Breathless and hearts pounding we laughed at the craziness, That night we enjoyed a luau at the Old Lahania Luau. Diving at Molikini was the highlight of our diving trips. Molikini Crater is actually a sunken Volcano off shore in Maui. We enjoyed the National Volcano Park in Hilo and our last stop was Kauai. The View from above was breathtaking. Our favorite thing in Hawaii???.........Oh of course, the Chickens . They are literally running loose everywhere. Rumor is, a Hurricane once freed them! Back in Honoloulou before flying home we toured Pearl Harbor and saw a bit of the city.
